Amy Meckler

Amy Meckler received her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Hunter College in 2001, where she garnered the Academy of American Poets Award, among other honors.  Her first book of poems, What All the Sleeping Is For, was awarded the 2002 Defined Providence Press Poetry Book Award and was published that year.  Her poems have appeared in Margie, Lyric, Atlanta Review, Rattapallax, Manhattan Literary Review, Whiskey Island  and Portland Review, among other publications.  Amy has taught creative writing at Hunter College and works in New York City as a Sign Language interpreter.
